Hello Friends! I know, you’re thinking “what? Is this actually happening? The Happy Mommy still exists!?!” That’s right, I do… and perhaps this time I’ll make it all the way through typing out this post and hitting “publish”. I talked before about how hard, hard, HARD it is to pick back up after a long absence, and this long absence has been filled with so much changing, moving, and growing for not only myself, but my whole little (and extended) family. The most apparent changer has been Happy Baby. The search continues for a blog name for him, right now the front runner is Loki, for reasons I’m sure you can imagine.
Let me tell you about Happy Baby…
Happy Baby is good at a great many things.
- “Cheesing” for the camera
- Taking selfies
- Finding small items
- Making loud noises
- Being overall adorable
- Making mischief
He likes a wide variety of things such as:
- Making mommy chase him
- Being asked “what did you just put in your mouth?” (For the record, his typical response is “yuuuuummmmm”)
- Reading books
- Pulling hair
Then we get to the things he is most definitely NOT good at. The list is short, but significant:
- Bed time
- Car rides (in fairness, he’s working on this, and has gotten much, MUCH better in the past nine months)
- Being “stuck” anywhere. Anywhere includes places like the jumper, the exersaucer, a playpen, the stroller, a car seat, a high chair, or anywhere else he is not allowed free movement with no restrictions. It often includes being forced into clothing, so winter should be fun.
But overall, he’s an amazing, wonderful, energetic, beautiful little boy who loves his family fiercely, and is mostly too cute to stay mad at. Even at 2am.
Holding the bacon he snatched off daddy’s plate when daddy tried to give him more scrambled eggs.
He’s really, REALLY good at selfies. Oh, and my hair is purple again, by the way.
As far as the rest of us go, we’re just busy hanging out, loving each other, learning about cool stuff (we got to see the International Space Station go by last night, just in time to kick off our space unit!), and doing cool things, like hanging out at Hogwarts.
So don’t worry, now that I’m back, I’ll be around. I have a lot to share, and as always, a lot to say. It won’t be as often as it used to, but I’ll be here. Thanks for sticking with me friends, I’ll see you again soon!
