First Birthday Winnie the Pooh Party

Hi friends!  Super excited today to share with you Happy Baby’s official first birthday Winnie the Pooh party! This was a VERY low key party by my usual standards, because Happy Baby is just not the type that wants a lot of fuss going on around him. For as much chaos as he loves to cause, he sure doesn’t like to be surrounded by it! We kept the guest list very small, only inviting the grandparents and Bestie’s family, pretty much the people he sees most often. As far as food went, we served his very favorite meal, brunch!  Having a group small enough for a brunch party was pretty awesome.  Food included eggs, bacon, and bagels.  We went a little bigger with the decor, but still kept it in a tight budget. Pinterest sure does get me a lot of bang for my buck these days.

And of course what party would be complete without cupcakes?  I considered about twenty seven different cake/cupcake options before deciding to stick with the simple theme.  I piped the chocolate bees using yellow and black candy melts on wax paper, and added sliced almonds for wings.  They’re sitting on top of chocolate cupcakes (from a BOX) in a generous heap (that’s really the only word for it) of delicious buttercream frosting.

And last, but certainly not least, the birthday boy, enjoying his treat.  This party was such a nice, relaxed time for me, and I really enjoyed being able to give Happy Baby the type of party I knew he would enjoy best. It was also nice to get to completely pick the theme out, as of course he really didn’t care what characters his party was based on.
